What this is
Irish VAT Calc is an independent, free VAT calculator and VAT registration threshold guide for Ireland, built on 2026 Revenue.ie figures. Nothing you enter is sent to a server — every calculation runs in your browser.
How we verify the figures
- Identify the exact figure from the primary source — Revenue.ie's VAT rates pages and "Who should register for VAT?" page.
- Transcribe the exact figure — no rounding beyond what the source itself uses.
- Cross-check against at least one independent citation of the same figure (e.g. Revenue's own dated publication) before publishing.
- Log the verification date, shown in the changelog and in each page's methodology section.
What this calculator does not cover
- Which VAT rate applies to a specific product or service — use Revenue's own VAT rates search tool for that determination.
- Cross-border VAT treatment: exports, EU intra-community supplies, Northern Ireland/Windsor Framework rules, non-resident trading.
- VAT group registration, capital goods scheme triggers, or the EU VAT SME cross-border scheme.
- The livestock/flat-rate farmer addition (4.8%) as a selectable calculator rate — listed for reference only.
